Dr. Bard graduated from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1979 and did his two-year post-graduate training in orthodontics in conjunction with the University of Louisville. Dr. Bard's areas of interest include interceptive orthodontic treatment, adult orthodontics, orthognathic surgery and multidisciplinary treatment approaches.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, World Federation of Orthodontists, Illinois Society of Orthodontists, Chicago Dental Society, Lake County Dental Society and the Christian Dental Society. Dr. Bard is the past president of the Illinois Society of Orthodontists. Dr Bard is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
